Introduction
Get to Know Me and My Method
My name is Veronica Sawarynski, and I am a professional freelance violinist in the Denver Metro Area. I play for Boulder Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, Sphere Ensemble, and Central City Opera. During my 3 plus decade career, I have honed my approach and methods of practicing.
This has allowed me to end those 2.5-3+ hour practice sessions where I still felt as if I hadn’t learned the music I wanted to play.
Over the years, I have transformed the way I practice. I now use an efficient and rewarding method that focuses my work into 30 minute chunks; I call it The Art of Professional Practicing.
As stated above, this method involves structuring practice sessions into 30 minute chunks. This division of time allows for conscious repetitions, using a varied list of ways to break difficult passages into manageable parts.
Another crucial aspect of my approach is releasing tension via body scanning. Body scanning increases physical awareness in real time, which lessens unnecessary or habitual tension as you practice.
As I solidified my system, my confidence increased, and my musicality improved—I fell into a rhythm of practicing where I learned more while doing less, physically. More expressive playing became easier, since I was able to get to that phase of preparation in less time (and without as many physical hurdles to clear along the way).
The Seminar
I use my method to prepare and stay sharp as a professional; it is the way I prepare for my professional concerts and recitals to this day. I think that once these ideas become part of your practicing, they will be with you for life.
In my seminar, The Art of Professional Practicing , you will raise your level of playing, and become the sort of practicer (and ergo, musician) that can progress at a professional rate. Also, as a flexible method, it can be tailored to YOUR personality and individual musical goals.
This seminar will be hard work! I can guess that if you are exploring this introduction you already want to be the best you can, and know hard work comes along with that. You already know that making progress requires a high level of commitment, and openness to change for positive growth.
The aforementioned hard work demands a serious commitment to using the methods, ideas, and challenges explored in the seminar. A n intentional investment of time, energy, and positive enthusiasm is a must— your attitude and willingness are key to transforming your practicing and musicianship during the seminar.
I hope you can join me this summer! Program details are listed below-get in touch by email to request an application form:
